About Us
Berks County Rugby Football Club is a 501(c)3 organization and a member of the Rugby Pennsylvania competition, a State Rugby Organization under the auspices of USA Rugby.
Since its establishment in 2016, Berks County Rugby has swiftly risen to prominence, earning recognition as one of the premier youth and high school rugby organizations nationwide. Our journey has been marked by significant milestones, including clinching five Pennsylvania State Championships across various levels.
In the past three years, our high school program has consistently secured national rankings, with a notable peak at #10 in 2023. This past spring, our high school 15s team received an invitation to the High School Nationals, finishing an impressive 6th in Tier 2. Our high school 7s team is widely regarded as one of the country's elite teams. Their prowess is evident in their victories over the past two years, where they've triumphed in numerous tournaments, some of which are the nation's most prestigious. Their journey has taken them to states such as Utah, Florida, New York, Ohio, New Jersey, and Maryland.
The accolades of our high school team have garnered significant attention from the nation's leading collegiate rugby programs. This spotlight has paved the way for our players, offering them coveted scholarship opportunities to further their rugby careers in college. Our success has a ripple effect: the more we achieve, the more attention we attract, leading to increased scholarship opportunities for our players.
Over the last two seasons, over 60% of our senior class has gone on to play Division 1 collegiate rugby. Despite being one of Pennsylvania's newest high school rugby programs, our players have made their mark at some of the country's top rugby institutions.
Presently, Berks County Rugby boasts of players who have secured rugby scholarships at esteemed programs such as Kutztown, Mount St. Mary’s, West Chester, Army, Nazareth, Iowa Central, Life University, St. Bonaventure, Merchant Marine Academy, Louisville, Marian, Rio Grande, and Penn St. Berks.
