Founder and high school coach of Berks County Rugby as of 2016.

Greg developed his passion for rugby as a player on the West Chester University rugby team in PA. 

After college, Greg played for 20+ years for several men’s clubs in NY and PA, including White Plains, Old Blue, Philadelphia-Whitemarsh, Brandywine and Blackthorn. Greg also had a successful rugby league career playing for the USA Tomahawks Rugby League team from 1995 – 2009. He represented the US 20 times over those years. 

In 2008, he was awarded the Rugby League International Federations – Nations Player of the Year for his performance in the 2007 Rugby League World Cup qualifier matches.

Berks Junior coach as of 2022.

He's presently the U16 coach for the national travel team of Atlantis Rugby.

He played middle and high school rugby and grew up in South Africa before moving to the states. He has been an athlete all his life and has done many sports, including Marathons and triathlons. His greatest achievement has been representing his state in the South African Championships for athletics and cross country.

He completed and finished 12th overall in the Iron Man Triathlon in Las Vegas as well. He got involved with rugby again when his son started playing for Berks rugby and refound his love for this wonderful team sport that brings out the best in all of us.

Shane Waddy started playing for the Niagara University Women’s Rugby Club in 2002 as a center for a D1 team that earned two state titles while being player-coached. As a junior, Shane became team Captain and helped with coaching. Shane didn’t have a set team after graduation but got on the field with local teams while moving around.

After moving from Philadelphia to Berks Shane started to volunteer coaching for Berks Youth Rugby in 2017. Seven years later and Shane is not only still coaching for Berks but has also founded, and serves as President of, the Reading Women’s Football Club.

She is also a National Committee Member for USA Rugby Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
